Michigan Spine and Pain is proud to offer cold laser therapy as part of our low back pain treatment protocol.
Cold laser therapy is also being utilized for treatment of the following medical issues:

- Cervical Pain
- Fibromyalgia
- Sports Injuries
- Auto and Work-Related Injuries
- Tendonopathies
- Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
- Ligament Sprains
- Muscle Strains
- Stress Injuries
- Rheumatoid Arthritis
- Osteoarthritis
Cold laser therapy is an effective, painless, non-surgical and medication-free way to address your pain management issues. This means that the laser treatment doesn’t generate the high levels of heat that other lasers generate, like the lasers that are used for surgery and hair removal. Cold lasers are designed to help ligaments and tendons heal. Ligaments and tendons have a poor blood supply, and so they are notoriously slow to heal.
In general, cold laser therapy requires several administrations. The number of appointments is determined by our medical staff and we base our decision on your medical history and your level of pain. The application typically generates a slow, steady, warm feeling. Some patients experience immediate relief; for most patients, the therapy has a cumulative effect and relief begins after the third or fourth session. Arthritis sufferers often need more treatments to lessen their pain and they need to continue with therapy to receive continued benefits.
At Michigan Spine and Pain, we are finding great success with the use of cold laser therapy, particularly in combination with other treatment options like physical therapy, chiropractic treatment, and massage.
