Patient Care Coordinators
Our specially trained patient care coordinators provide the bridge between the medical and support services we provide to our patients. Our patient care coordinators play many different roles, and are available to help with patient concerns, questions, and through every step of the pain treatment process with Michigan Spine & Pain. They are trained to work with chronic patients and are extremely calm and accommodating. All of our specially trained patient care coordinators are patient advocates and will clarify expectations and procedures of the clinic to the patient, in order to increase communication and aid in healing.
Patient Scheduling:
Patient Care Coordinators will work with patients to find out how to best accommodate their schedule and lifestyle. In most cases, the treatment of pain doesn’t mean life stops for the patient, and coordinating an agreeable and viable schedule for treatment is sometimes tricky.
Patient Advocacy:
In some cases, a patient dealing with chronic pain may feel they are alone. This can be extremely frustrating to a patient who is living with pain. Our patient care coordinators advocate for the patient and help them navigate the confusing world of healthcare. We take the extra step so our patients don’t have to, and can focus on eliminating their pain. For example, in many cases an MRI is needed to rule out certain diagnoses on a patient. In this case, instead of giving the patient the MRI order and requiring that they schedule the procedure themselves, a Patient Care Coordinator at Michigan Spine & Pain will schedule the appointment, ensure that it is covered by the patient’s insurance, and then alert the patient of the time and date of the scheduled appointment.
Keeping the Patient Informed & Educated:
Our specially trained Patient Care Coordinators also have the role of keeping patients informed about everything they will need to know during their healing process – including pricing and fees that will be incurred during the time spent under our care. Our multidisciplinary pain clinic is unique in the fact that we have Board Certified, Fellowship Trained Pain Physicians dedicated to providing relief for those who suffer from acute and chronic pain. We want you to be informed healthcare consumers and compare our services and prices with other multidisciplinary pain clinics.
Our Billing office will bill your insurance company, and we also participate with most major insurers. For patients without insurance, or for those with Health Saving Accounts and Flexible Spending accounts, our general prices are listed below.
